Russian President Vladimir Putin has shown no signs of compromising, the BBC’s Russia editor Steve Rosenberg said.
It comes after Russian officials said there was “no compromise” in five hours of talks between Putin and US Envoy Steve Witkoff on Tuesday.
Putin believes that Russia has the initiative on the battlefield in Ukraine, and therefore he can dictate the terms of the peace agreement, Rosenberg said.
