NATO chief Mark Rutte hit back at Vladimir Putin’s hawkish comments on Wednesday, saying the alliance is “ready to do whatever it takes” to protect Europe. Speaking on FRANCE 24, Peter Zalmayev, founder and director of the Eurasian Democratic Initiative, says Putin has “something to back up his confidence” based on the lack of international response to repeated violations of NATO airspace.
