A student with a prominent role during the Pro-Palestinian protest at Columbia University in New York City last year his lawyer is detained.
Mahmoud Khalil, a refugee of Palestinian raised in Syria, is leading student negotiator for campus campus in the west side of Manhattan.
His lawyer, Amy Greer, told BBC Mr Khalil was inside his house owned when immigration and Ice agents) took him to the customer.
Columbia is the center of last year protesting Pro-Palestinian student throughout the country against Gaza and US support for Israel.
The BBC contacted the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of State and Columbia University for commentary.
Ms Greer said the ice agents told Mr. Khalil his student who was rejected, but he said his client was a legal card with a green citizen.
“At first we were announced this morning moving him to an ice facility at Elizabeth, New Jersey,” says Ms Greer.
“However, when his wife – a citizen of the US eight months and threatened to arrest the ice agents again – he was told he was not detained there.”

Ms Grer said they heard Mr Khalil can be moved as far as Louisiana, with no add details.
The lawyer said what happened to his client a “terrible and unstoppable – and calculated – wrong”.
During the protests last summer, Mr. Khalil said he was leading negotiations with university administrators for student protesters.
They set up a large tent camp at the University month of protest against Gaza War.
Some students also have control over an academic building for hours before the police cops enter them to catch them. Mr. Khalil is not in that group.
He later told the BBC temporarily suspended at the university, where he was a graduate student at international and public school.
