Lewis (full name Franklin ‘Shavi’ Lewis Frierson Jr.) grew up in New Jersey before addressing his office at Clark Atlanta University. Prior to his death, the designer worked as creative director of the Italian men’s clothing company Stephen F. and produced his own collection of clothes.
Some of his designs appeared in Emmys Red Carpes and the second season of Posture as well as in celebrities included Leah Jana and Cynthia Bailey. In 2019, Lewis gained even more fame while competing in season 18 of Project Runway.
