Turkish police arrested Istanbul mayor of Ekrem Imakrim, a man who was widely considered the largest rival rivals of President Recep Taiiip Erdogan. Detention is alleged part of the investigation of corruption and connections to terrorism. Comes the day after the university was revoked by Imamogluin’s degree, disqualifying the opposition figure to run in the next presidential race. Andrew Hilliar has more.
