move, Boston Rob — Dylan Efron may have soon a new bromance with Team USA Curler Corey Dropkin.
Dropkin, 30, heard from the Dancing with the stars alum after him and mate Cory Thiesse won the silver medal in mixed doubles on Tuesday, February 10. Efron, 34, sent Dropkin an Instagram direct message after watching the gold medal match live in Italy.
Efron’s message was four words: “SHOW ME YOUR BICEPS,” written in all caps, Dropkin said. Us Weekly exclusively while discussing his role in the DICK’S Sporting Goods Team USA Ambassador Program.
It wasn’t a random request, as funny as it might have been. Dropkin says Efron was referring to a moment that took place during the gold medal match.
“There was a moment during that gold medal match that somebody yelled at me to show them (my) biceps,” he said. “And so I looked at them and showed them my biceps, right, give them a push-up.”
Dropkin kept his phone off while still competing in the Olympic Gameshe only turned it back on after Team USA fell to Sweden in the finals. Dropkin said he reset his phone with 400 unread texts and 20,000 new Instagram followers, but Efron stood out.
“I hope to meet him at some point, and I’m a big fan of his,” Dropkin said. “I saw him on last season of Dancing With the Stars, so I would love to fangirl if I ever ran into him.”

The couple lives in Duluth, Minn., where they’ll return after Dropkin finishes cheering on his Team USA teammates, and maybe run into Efron, who isn’t the only celebrity who enjoyed curling at the Olympics. Dropkin was buoyed by the big names that followed, helping to raise the profile of the sport he grew up playing.
“The Kelces, you have George Kittle“It’s been amazing to see other elite athletes and elite figures from around the world love each other for our sport,” he said. “My whole goal is to show all my emotions, all my passion for this sport of curling to allow the audience around the world and in the United States to see that this sport is amazing.”
That goal works hand in hand with his partnership with DICK’S, where Dropkin said he worked for “several years.”
“I’m a big believer in sport and getting involved in sport at a very young age and so it’s been great to be able to take on an ambassadorial role and hopefully help inspire some kids to take up sport and dream big,” he said. “I love being able to be so involved in sharing my passions with other kids as well.”

Dropkin is still working out the details, but said he would like to give back to the Duluth junior curling community and the Broomstones Curling Club, which he was a member of growing up in Massachusetts.
