Crystal Palace are considering the sacking of manager Oliver Glasner.

Ski Sports News Palace chairman Steve Parish is understood to have been confused and angered by the Austrian’s comments after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at Sunderland, where Glasner directly criticized the club’s board, saying “we feel like we’ve been completely abandoned”.

Glasner confirmed on Friday that he will leave Selhurst Park when his contract expires in the summer, but Parish must make a decision on whether to let him sit out the last four months or sack him now.

Upcoming sale of Marc Guehi for Manchester City it looks as if it could be the last straw in the deteriorating relationship between manager and chairman.

“To sell our captain the day before the game – there is no understanding of this,” Glasner said on Saturday.

But Palace feel they have no choice but to sell Guehi rather than risk losing £20m if the defender leaves the game at the end of the season. And the club are adamant they honored Glasner’s wishes in the last transfer window, when they pulled out of a deal to sell him to Liverpool on deadline day.

From Parish’s perspective, every decision he makes is one he believes is right for the long-term stability and future of Crystal Palace. Whether Glasner will remain a part of those plans will likely be decided quickly.
