Addicted to rehabilitation host Nicole Curtis he is talking later HGTV pulled all episodes of the show from their platforms.
On Wednesday February 11, Radar Online shared footage of Curtis, 49, using the n-word while completing a renovation project for the popular home restoration series. The slur was caught on camera but not aired when the episode aired in June 2025, according to RadarOnline.
HGTV, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, quickly removed future episodes Addicted to rehabilitationwhich was expected to premiere on Wednesday, and removed previous episodes from HBO Max and Discovery+.
“HGTV was recently made aware of an offensive racial comment made during the filming of Rehab Addict. Language like this not only hurts and disappoints our viewers, partners and employees, it does not align with HGTV’s values,” HGTV said. Us Weekly in a statement this Wednesday. “Accordingly, we have pulled the series from all HGTV platforms. We remain dedicated to fostering a culture of respect and inclusion in our content and our workplace.”
After the news of the show’s cancellation, Curtis posted to him Instagram stories Wednesday, “There’s more, but my family comes first and I need to be a mom right now more than anything else… I’m going to take the time to be like I’ve always been with you, transparent and honest. TMZ called me because I just turned on the phone after school, I said it briefly, but there’s more…”
In a later Instagram story, Curtis shared a text message exchange with TMZ in which he addressed his use of the racial slur and Addicted to rehabilitationabrupt cancellation
“Regarding HGTV, I’m grateful for the 15-year journey we’ve shared. It’s been a meaningful chapter, but my focus is not on my career,” he wrote to a TMZ reporter. “My focus, right now, is right on my relationships and my community — the people who really know my character and where my heart is.”
Curtis continued: “I want to be clear: the word in question is incorrect and is not part of my vocabulary and never has been, and I apologize to everyone.”
“As mentioned, I’m a mom, and I was doing mom things all day and I just kind of disconnected,” Curtis concluded. “I realize my shows were airing, but my family is my priority and I’m just catching up on all that now.”
In images resurfaced from the set of Addicted to rehabilitationreleased Wednesday by RadarOnline, Curtis was filmed using the n-word while completing a renovation in Wyoming.
“Why? It’s the last one,” he said in the clip as he appeared to struggle with the renewal. “Oh, fart (n word).”
Curtis appeared shocked by his use of the slur and asked the camera crew to delete the footage.

Addicted to rehabilitation first premiered in 2010 on the DIY Network (now known as the Magnolia Network) before moving to HGTV for its fourth season in 2014.
