A medieval tower located in the center of Rome collapsed on Monday, killing one person and leaving another critically injured.
A section of the Torre Dei Conti – on the edge of the famous Roman Forum and near the Colosseum – gave way after 11:30 Local Time (10:30 GMT).
As rescue efforts continued, a second section of the 29m (90ft) tall tower began to crumble again, creating a huge cloud of dust.
The firefighters were not overwhelmed and were able to “put protection” around the man field in time for the second collapse.
