A meteorite falls in a US house is older than the planet earth, scientists say.

The object flew into the sky in the broad sunlight before bursting over the State of Georgia on 26 June, was confirmed by NASA.

University of the University of Georgia examined a fragment of stone piercing on the roof of a house in McDonough town.

They know that, based on the meteorite class, expected to be formed 4.56 billion years ago, making it nearly 20 million years older than the ground.

Georgia residents and adjacent states reported hundreds of scenes and a strong progression as soon as the fireball passed into the sky.

The stone has easily decreased in size and speed, but still traveled at least 1 km per second, which went through a man’s roof in Henry County.

Many fragments hit the building are committed to scientists, analyzing their origin.

“The particular meteor entered in the space has a long history before it is made of land in McDonough,” Scott Harris, a Geologist at the University of Georgia, said.

With optical and electron microscopy, Harris is determined and his team is a condoncite – the largest type of rocky meteorite, According to NASA – which means it is approximately 4.56 billion years old.

Home resident says he still found pieces of dust in his house from the hit.

The matter, named McDonough Meteorite, the 27th derived from Georgia.

“It was something that used to expect a moment every few decades and not several times within 20 years,” Harris said.

“Modern technology, in addition to a careful public, helps us recover more meteorites.”

Harris hopes to publish his findings in the composition and speed of the asteroid, which helps to understand the threat of additional asteroids.

“One day had an opportunity, and we never knew when it was going to happen, for something more hit and making a catastrophic situation. If we wanted,” we want to, “we like it.
