Meta is pausing plans to sell Ray-Ban Display sunglasses outside the U.S. due to “unprecedented demand and limited supply,” the company said said on Tuesday. Meta originally planned to launch the glasses in France, Italy, Canada, and the UK in early 2026.
“Since its launch last fall, we have seen an overwhelming amount of interest, and as a result, the product’s waiting list now extends to 2026,” the company said. “Due to unprecedented demand and limited inventory, we have decided to pause our planned international expansion.”
Meta said it will continue to focus on fulfilling US orders while reevaluating its approach to international availability.
Opened in September, smart glasses Meta Ray-Ban Display controlled by a wristband called Meta neural Band, which detects subtle hand gestures.
At CES this week in Las Vegas, Meta showed off new features coming to its glasses and Neural Band. Glasses get a new teleprompter feature that gives users a portable way to deliver prepared comments. Additionally, users can now write messages using their fingers on any surface while wearing the Meta Neural Band and have those gestures transcribed into digital messages.
Meta also developed pedestrian navigation to Denver, Las Vegas, Portland, and Salt Lake City.
