The most surprising storyline of the season is Bella and Hunter’s relationship. Although TLC has said Hunter was 13 when filming began, Bella, 15, later clarified that he was actually 12 years old when their son was conceived and then turned 13 a few days later.

“I understand that doesn’t make it any better. I understand that he was sexually ready faster than I was, and that’s fine, but I was ready when we had sex,” she said via TikTok in January 2026. “Y’all can stop saying it was illegal and I raped him because I didn’t.
