The masked singer has hosted a lot of popular actors, athletes and musicians over the yearsbut producers have occasionally found themselves in hot water over controversial contestants and other setbacks.
One of the first controversies of the Fox reality show came in March 2020 when Sarah Palin was unmasked as the bear during season 3. The former governor of Alaska was the first politician to take part in the series, and not all fans were happy that the pool of contestants had expanded outside of Hollywood.
“As if things weren’t mental enough, tonight Sarah Palin revealed herself as a masked singer,” one viewer tweeted at the time. “2020 is killing me, man.”
