“The wedding was perfect. It was beautiful,” Short said he saidbefore revealing how she committed the ultimate wedding faux pas.
Short continued: “Everything was perfect except the night of the reception… it was a big, big party, imagine a stage, dance floor, musicians… In the back of the tent there were these individual seating areas with couches and chairs. “There was a cake, a wedding cake, for our section, but it was a small wedding cake. I just assumed there was a wedding cake for each section at the back,” the comedian explained. “After a few hours, they still haven’t cut their wedding cake, Steve (Martí) he said he will leave I said, “Oh, wait.” Maybe he had a cocktail. He had a fork in his hand. The actor said the chef “did surgery” on the cake, saying it was a “Hollywood wedding cake because it was beautiful, but now it had some work to do.”
Short and Martin tried to avoid the incident from Gomez, 33, on her big day, but it seems she found out.
“I said, ‘No, guys, we can’t let Selena know,'” Short recalled. “And Steve was like, ‘Yeah, maybe we’ll tell him in a month or something.’ And then when I left, Selena came (and said), ‘Hey Marty, I heard you tried to eat my cake.’
Despite their celebrity wedding fling, Short praised Gomez and Blanco’s union.
“It’s great to go to a wedding where you just know these people are perfect for each other,” she said. “You know, Selena is like another child to me. I adore her so much. And she found this guy, and he’s the greatest man, and they have the best hangout, and they’re so in love.”
