“At first it was really hard to feel like I didn’t have any closure or an answer that made sense,” Jalyn, 27, said on the Wednesday, Dec. 3 episode of What’s Reality podcastremembering their breakup. “I felt so hurt and blind at the time. It really took us until three months to get to a better place.”

Jalyn and Josh have pre-Married at First Sight history
While the premise of MAFS is to marry a stranger, Jalyn they really crossed paths with Josh long before they said “I do.”
“I walked down the hall and knew him immediately when I saw him,” Jalyn recalled. “I said, ‘That’s great. He’s really cute,” but then I told myself (that) I didn’t want to meet him and I did… I’ve never (had) a date with him. We’ve never spoken.”
According to Jalyn, she met Josh at the local Gold’s Gym about eight years ago and subsequently exchanged phone numbers.
“He came up to me and just introduced himself, and I said, ‘Hi,'” she said of her interaction with the gym. “I’d see him here and there, and he’d say, ‘Hi.’ I think he worked in a bar one time and I walked in and he took me for a drink and I said, ‘OK, thanks’ and left.”
What happened at Burning Man?
One of Jalyn and Josh’s biggest fights was over the annual festival, which made the peacock bride realize she had some major incompatibilities with her husband.
“My biggest fear about Burning Man was camping, but when I’m in love with someone, I’ll do anything,” Jalyn said. “I would have gone camping; that wasn’t the worst thing. I think, for me, the Burning Man experience was fine. It’s a lifestyle, and there’s a lot you think about when it comes to that lifestyle. My concern was, ‘Does he like to do recreational drugs?’ That’s a big deal for me.”
Josh calmed Jalyn’s concerns when he stressed that he didn’t do drugs, and they even camped out at Burning Man after the show was over.
“I realized that’s his whole personality and it’s his lifestyle,” he said. “I don’t let him go alone. It’s 10 days, you don’t know what they’re doing… I realized I need to go, and it’s important, because if I don’t like it, it’s not going to work (with us) because it’s important to him.”
When Jalyn accompanied Josh to Burning Man, she noticed he was “cool.”
“It was hard at first because we spent most of our time doing hard work, building a shower, building our tents (and) a giant dome,” he recalled. “After that was done, we had a lot of fun. It was just me and him for the most part. We went dancing with Taylor Swift.”
“We had a lot of fun. We were redecorating the house and we traveled,” she said. “We got a third dog and we fostered him, and it was so much fun. We had a blast.”
Despite many adventures, Jalyn acknowledged certain marital “issues”.
“All the problems we had, we handled them and we were working on things,” he explained. “Overall, we were always very strong. I would say to him, ‘I’m glad we feel very confident.'”
When did Jalyn and Josh break up?
After a year of marriage, the couple went on vacation to Mexico with Jalyn’s friends. At the end of the getaway, Josh allegedly revealed that he was not happy.
“We had a good time, went to dinner (and) had fun,” Jalyn recalled. “(Last) night, we were talking and he looked at me and said, ‘I don’t have a connection with you anymore. I want to break up.’ I was literally in shock.”
Jalyn further claimed that Josh told her that she was not adventurous enough for him.
“I said, ‘I’m confused, this doesn’t make sense. We spent a year doing everything you want to do, and I didn’t do it in a complaining way. I dove into it,'” he said. “He didn’t really give me (a reason) that made sense.”
Jalyn then asked if their marriage was salvageableso they agreed to “give it a shot” after returning home from the trip. They broke up three days later.
“He was a totally different person, like cold,” Jalyn told podcast host AD Smith. “I asked him, ‘Why are you acting so cold?’ He said: “I am not acting cold. I’m cold I had never seen such a human in my life. Like, (for) a year and a half, he’s the calmest guy, down about anything.”

Jalyn accompanied Josh to a concert that week, where she noticed that her husband was acting obvious when a random girl who worked at the venue approached them. He allegedly didn’t think to introduce Jalyn, then told her he “didn’t know” how he knew the other woman in the first place.
“I said, ‘Did you hook up with her? Did you block it?’ He’s like, ‘Let’s go.’ I knew at that point, that was it. It was red (and) that was his out,” Jalyn said, claiming Josh asked her to leave the house that night. “I moved on pretty quickly. It was like he didn’t know who he was. He was acting totally calm, not sad.”
Jalyn is ready to move on
“I’m excited for what’s to come,” she said. “I feel like I definitely am ready to enter the dating pool again I feel excited just because I know I can trust my gut all the time and someone is there. If I had what I thought was a great marriage that just immersed me in their world, then how much more fun will it be to be married to someone we share that with?
