“I want to thank this amazing team for all their hard work, passion and relentlessness in helping me make this vision a reality in less than 72 hours,” Ballas, 39, wrote via Instagram on Saturday 29 November to perform the routine days before. “I had this concept brewing for a while, I made mood boards full of images and inspiration. I had been working on the musical arrangement for two weeks.”
Ballas and the Secret Lives of Mormon Women star, 32 years old, were eliminated during the DWTS the semi-finals of Season 34 despite being at the top of the standings throughout the season. In a few weeks, the couple got the call to appear activated Alex Cooper‘s podcast and comment on your journey.
“From that point on, (my team and I) were firing on all cylinders and had to build it from the ground up from choreography, location, lighting, direction, cameras, dancers, hair, makeup, costumes, props, art direction, production and set-up,” Ballas recalled, referring to the Broadway-style routine. “Thank you @alexandracooper for inviting us to be on your show and for organizing this with ABC and DWTS. You are an amazing interviewer. As someone who sometimes shys away from interviews, you made me feel comfortable and relaxed.”
Ballas also thanked the DWTS executives included Conrad Green, Deena Katz i Rob Mills to “trust (him) to bring this vision to life on such a big platform.”
“I’m very grateful,” he said, addressing Leavitt directly. “What a wild ride, thank you for all your hard work, bravery, determination and lots of belly laughs we shared. I’m so proud of you and so happy to share this experience with you.”
He continued: “It’s funny that you started out on a ‘reality show’ but I got to see and get to know the real you. Congrats on all the exciting things coming your way and remember ‘keep swimming’.”
Ballas and Leavitt also had the full support of the three-time mirrorball champions woman, BC Jean, and other family members.
“To my infinitely loving and supportive wife @bcjean, thank you for always being willing to go on an adventure and for letting me get totally lost in my process,” Ballas concluded his tribute on Saturday. “I literally couldn’t do any of this without you by my side. Words can’t express how grateful I am to have you in my life. I love you so much and I just can’t wait much needed family time with our sweet (son).”

“Mark Ballas, your talent, creativity and work ethic are simply outstanding – you operate on another plane entirely,” Corky, 64, wrote via an Instagram comment on Saturday. “I admire your exceptional skill in dancing, music, writing, playing, singing and performing. I look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in 2026. I love you, Dad. (I am) so proud of you. You have always lived in a different energy and frequency, the vibrations have always been strong, since the NinJaTurtle days.”
