Maks Chmerkovskiy not sure for the first time Dancing with the stars pro Jan Ravnik has what it takes to win the mirror ball trophy.
During a recent appearance to the woman Map of Murgatroyd‘s “The attic with Peta” Podcast Chmerkovskiy, 45, influenced Ravnik’s performance so far in Season 34 with his partner Jen Affleck – and he was not impressed.
“Dancing with the stars it is a worldwide phenomenon. … Sorry, Jan is not interested in being a professional Dancing with the stars” Chmerkovskiy stated on the episode on Friday, October 24. “There is no zero-based technique, quality, understanding of the partnership. Bro, I’m getting excited. It’s absurd, and it’s unreal how blind we must be and God forbid saying the obvious.”
Pointing to the pair’s foxtrot during Wicked Night, which won them over 32 out of 40 points from the judges: Chmerkovskiy argued that Ravnik, 30, “had no idea” what the dance style involved.

“How do you expect him to teach that and deliver that message in a format that’s completely different from even ballroom dancing? We had that criticism weeks ago, and I said, ‘Brother, somebody’s going to explain it to him?’ Chmerkovskiy continued.
Before joining the 34th season of the salon competition, Ravnik performed alongside taylor swift as one of his backup dancers The Tour d’Eres.

Getty Images (2)Murgatroyd, 39, noted that the performance was “moody and dramatic” but he “didn’t like the foxtrot elements” that Ravnik included “because he just didn’t get the technique right”. However, he praised the couple’s “beautiful pairing and teamwork” in the routine.
“He’s learning,” Murgatroyd said of Ravnik. “He’s learning little by little. It’s his first season, we have to give him grace for not understanding the foxtrot technique.”
Chmerkovskiy disagreed with the idea of giving grace. “We saw a dance that gave us some kind of direction … and then (it was) right off the cliff,” he claimed.

Eric McCandless/Disney via Getty Imagesthe first DWTS pro — who won the contest once in a total of 17 seasons, he insisted that he had nothing against Ravnik. “That was a missed opportunity,” Chmerkovskiy continued. “(It’s a) big disadvantage. (Jen) doesn’t have a partner. … It’s not her fault.”
Murgatroyd noted that Ravnik’s history with Swift, 35, is “an obvious reason” he was cast on the show, “apart from the fact that he’s a lovely guy, he looks great, he’s obviously a great dancer.”
“Hiring a non-ballroom dancer to teach a celebrity ballroom dancing as a job is outrageous,” he continued. (Murgatroyd won two of his 15 seasons DWTS.)

Chmerkovskiy said past seasons have stood out professionals with less experience in the ballroom who were “immediately integrated” into the process. Murgatroyd argued that the company would have been a better place for Ravnik to begin his career on the show.
“I should have studied, taken dance lessons,” she said. “Look, what would I do if I were him, and I don’t know what he’s doing behind the scenes, let’s be honest… But I’d do my four hours in the studio, whatever I had to do, and then I’d take (Jen) for another four hours and go somewhere else.”
Along with yours Tour d’Epoques Ravnik has won several titles as a competitive dancer. Earlier this month, Ravnik joked that the DWTS the judges spend a little too much time evaluating his choreography instead of Affleck’s dancing.
“They’re just obsessed with me or something,” he said Us Weekly exclusively after Disney Night on October 7th. “I mean, look, I’m new, so I’ll take whatever notes they’re giving me. I don’t think it’s a bad thing they always say.”
Affleck, meanwhile, previously praised his association with Ravnik while working together in the studio. “I’m very excited,” she said we in September “There’s a lot of energy. We’re both rookies and I’m really excited.”
