After their meeting at the Oval Office on Monday, the French president Emmanuel Macron expelled President Donald Trump while they took questions from journalists.
Trump said European countries “credited” money in Ukraine. “They got their money,” he added.
Macron placed his hand at Trump’s arm and said that Ukraine’s funding in Europe took the form of loans, guaranteed and rewarded, and included “real money”.
- The pair meets the third anniversary of the total Russian invasion of Ukraine, one week after the Russian security negotiations began with no directly involving Europe.
