LPGA International Crown: World Team, Japan and Australia qualify for semifinals | Golf News

Canada’s Brooke Henderson and Taiwan’s Wei-Ling Hsu beat Sweden’s Madeleine Sagstrom and Ingrid Lindblad 4-3 as the world team qualified for the semi-finals of the International Crown alongside Australia, Japan and the United States.

In the tournament, the world team and seven countries compete in two pools with the teams and their players determined by the world rankings.

The win by Henderson and Hsu gave the world team their fourth point in Group B from two wins and two ties in the LPGA team competition at the New Korea Country Club.

Mao Saigo and Miyu Yamashita’s 1-1 victory over South Korean pair Hyo Joo Kim and Hye-Jin Choi ensured Japan would join them in the semi-finals, with Australia also qualifying.

A draw in the match against American pair Yealimi Noh and Angel Yin was enough for Australian duo Minji Lee and Steph Kyriakou to claim a point which saw them progress as runners-up in Group A.

on friday, England’s Charlie Hull and New Zealand’s Lydia Ko recorded a victory for the world team over Maya Stark and Lyn Grant from Sweden.

Entering Saturday’s final round of foursomes, the U.S. had already qualified for the semifinals from Group A with wins in its first four foursomes.

The Sunday semifinals and finals of the tournament consist of one foursome (alternate shot) and two singles matches.
