Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn revealed that he is unable to run the Saturday January 31 World Cup super-G race following his most recent injury.
The news comes just one day after Vonn was airlifted off course after an accident, days before the start of the Winter Olympics in Milan, Italy.
“Unfortunately I won’t be able to run today… wish all my teammates a great run 💪🏻 🇺🇸,” she posted. via Instagram Saturday, along with a video of Friday’s crash. “Thank you for all the love and support I’ve received. It means the world to me. Giving my best right now… 🙏🏻🤞🏻.”
fellow olympic Shaun White – which was recently discovered snowboarding in New York’s Central Park after the weekend snowstorm, shared a supportive comment on the post.
“YOU GOT THIS 💪,” White said.
Vonn’s followers flooded her post with positive and uplifting messages for the three-time Olympic medalist.
“We love you Linds 💪❤️,” the author said Amy Griffina close friend and staunch supporter of Vonn.
“Sending speedy healing energy your way! ❤️,” the Olympic gold medalist skier posted Julia Mancuso.
Vonn, 41, is in the midst of an Olympic comeback after an eight-year absence from the Games. If she is deemed healthy enough to compete in Milan, she will likely be the favorite for the gold medal in her event. He tops the downhill World Cup standings and has already won twice on tour this year.

After Vonn’s crash, the remainder of the race was canceled due to poor visibility and conditions. Three of the six skiers who ran the race before it was interrupted crashed, including Vonn.

“You can’t see and there are bumps everywhere,” he told reporters on Friday.
After crashing, Vonn received medical attention for about five minutes, then went down to the finish line of the course.

Vonn is no stranger to injury, though it has never stopped her from competing in the past. He underwent a partial knee replacement in 2024, but just months later announced his return to the sport.
Earlier this week, he said he “never thought I’d run again.”
“I retired completely, I built an amazing life,” he said today show on Monday, January 26. “That was never part of the plan.”
Even with the recent injury, Vonn has made it clear that she still plans to compete in the Olympics.
“I crashed today in the downhill race in Switzerland and injured my left knee,” Vonn shared on Instagram on Friday. “I’m discussing the situation with my doctors and my team and will continue to undergo further tests. This is a very difficult result a week before the Olympics … but if there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s a comeback.”
He continued: “My Olympic dream is not over. Thank you for all the love and support. I will give more information when I have it. Thank you to all the medical staff who helped me today. I am grateful for all the amazing help I have received.”
