Pamela Anderson i Liam Neeson both skipped in 2026 Critics Choice Awards despite his 2025 film, The naked gunwinner of best comedy.
The naked gun took the win before the ceremony at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Sunday, January 4. Neither Neeon, 73, nor Anderson, 58, were present on the red carpet for the win, and appeared to be absent during the ceremony. The award for best comedy marked the film’s only nomination at the awards show.
Neeson and Anderson first connected while starring The naked gun restart last year. The couple made headlines after displaying flirtatious behavior on several red carpets while promoting the film in the summer of 2025.
“With Pamela, first of all, I’m madly in love with her. She’s great to work with. I can’t praise her enough, I’ll be honest with you. There’s no huge ego,” Neeson said of Anderson in an October 2024 interview with People ahead of the film’s release. “She just comes in to do the job. She’s fun and really easy to work with. She’s going to be great in the movie.”

In that same interview, Anderson referred to Neeson as “the perfect gentleman.”
“He brings out the best in you … with respect, kindness and depth of experience,” she said. “It was an absolute honor to work with him.”
In a joint interview with Anderson, Neeson revealed his first impression Bay Watch alum.
“I thought, ‘Oh my God, it’s so easy on the eyes,'” Neeson said people. “I was so taken with your ‘existence’. You’re absolutely there. There was no (deleting me), I knew we had some kind of chemistry from very early on.”

Anderson also addressed rumors that the connection between her and Neeson was nothing more than a PR stunt for the movie.
“I always laughed when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings,” Anderson said. “I adore Liam, but we’re best friends, in all honesty.”
Anderson added that she the last time he saw Neeson in August 2025, when he surprised her by attending his performance of Tennessee Williams’ Camino Real at the Williamstown Theater Festival.
“He’s a big supporter of this new career path for me and he kindly tells me he’s very proud of me,” she said. “I’m sure we’ll always be in each other’s lives.”
