Landman, which premiered in November 2024, is Sheridan’s most recent hit seriesjoining the ranks of Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Lawmen: Bass Reeves i lioness. Based on creator Christian Wallace’s “Boomtown” podcast, Landman featured Thornton as a corporate fixer working for an oil titan (Jon Hamm) in a drama set in West Texas with life or death stakes.
As the first season ended, Monty was killed, riding the Cami de Moore as the new protagonist.
“You dropped these little pieces throughout the season,” executive producer Christian Wallace told TV Insider in January 2025 while reflecting on the big plot twist. “There’s Monty checking his heart rate on his watch or his wife Cami telling him no more coffee and just little things that have been dropped all this time to let you know something’s going on so that when it finally does, it’s not completely out of the blue.”

He continued, “But you also don’t want to be too heavy-handed about it and just explicitly telegraph it to viewers. So it’s kind of a matter of trying to get that balance of letting people know there’s a problem without it being the only thing they can think about.”

Has ‘Landman’ been renewed?
Paramount+ renewed Landman before Season 2 ended in January 2026. The second season became the first three series of all original content in November 2025 and later the first two series. Season 2 also hit ratings records for Paramount+ when it pulled in more than 9.2 million streaming views for its premiere episode in its first two days.
Who would reprise their characters?
Thornton, Moore, Ali Larter, Jacob Lofland, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, Paulina Chavez, James Jordanor Colm Feore they are expected to return. new arrivals Andy Garcia i Sam Elliott will continue to play an important role in Season 3.

Will Michelle Randolph’s controversial character Ainsley continue to grow?
co-star Moore asked Randolph on one set Interview magazine profile published in December 2025 about her experience with “a mixture of feminist negativity” and praise for her characters in 1923 i Landman.

It’s challenged me in so many ways — what’s on the page is so different than what you see on screen. I’ve tried to add how genuine and sincere she is so that there are more redeeming qualities.”
Will there be more surprises?
“That’s one thing about a Taylor (Sheridan) program. When things are going too well, there’s usually something,” Lofland told Us in December 2025. “So far, it’s going great. Like I said, they’re navigating it well. We’ll just see how it goes. I think everybody’s going to be excited to see him the rest of the season.”
Where will Rebecca continue to fit in?
Wallace previously told us what to expect, especially for her character Rebecca.
“People will see more cracks in his personality,” he teased. “And he’s definitely going to face some challenges in the workplace, too.”
Wallace specifically noted how Rebecca’s elevated role at M-Tex Oil will pose obstacles, saying, “This is such a big change for her. She’s always going to question her life and she’s always going to question everything and reevaluate.”
But fans shouldn’t be too worried.
“We also see it grow in this family. M-Tex is in trouble and it’s there in an instant,” he noted. “She sees this juxtaposition where it’s not really a natural thing for her to be part of the team. She’s kind of a lone wolf and one for herself, but she clings to the family a little bit.”
