Landman season 3 burning questions we need answered: Cast departures, more

Taylor Sheridan‘s Landman has a lot of questions to answer in Season 3, including concerns on possible distribution outputs.

Inspired by the “Boomtown” podcast series, Landman centers around West Texas oil industry, with a specific focus on crisis executive Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) and his family. Season 2, which premiered in October 2025, set ratings records for Paramount+ after garnering more than 9.2 million streaming views for its premiere episode in its first two days on the service. Views increased from the premiere of the first season, making it the most-watched premiere of any Paramount+ original series.

During the Season 2 finale, which aired in January 2026, Cooper (Jacob Lofland) convinced Ariana (Paulina Chavez) to report his sexual assault to the police. As a result, Cooper was questioned after it emerged that the man responsible for the assault died of a heart attack after they took him to the hospital.

Once Cooper’s father, Tommy, learned of the situation, he made sure that his son would not be accused of a crime he did not commit. With the help of Rebecca (Kayla Wallace), Tommy was able to stop for the authorities to arrest Cooper.
