Kristy Scott’s husband Desmond Scott breaks his silence on her divorce filing


TikTok star Kristy Scott‘s estranged husband, Desmond Scotthas broken his silence on the influencer application for divorce after almost 12 years of marriage.

“I want to start by apologizing to Kristy, our family and everyone who has been affected by the public attention surrounding this situation,” Desmond, 31, announced via his Instagram story on Saturday January 10. “I know this news has been disappointing to many, and I am sorry for the hurt it has caused.”

He continued, “Kristy is the mother of my children, and that will always come first. I am fully committed to being an active, present and loving parent to our children, as I have always been.”

Early in the day, Us Weekly confirmed that Kristy, 30, officially filed for divorce on December 30, 2025. TMZKristy cited alleged infidelity as the reason their separation. (Kristy and Desmond have been married since 2014 and have two children: sons Vance and Westin).

Documents filed by the social media star in Harris County, Texas, stated that there is no hope of reconciliation for the former couple and that they will “soon cease to live together as husband and wife.” we Both parties have been contacted for comment.

Through her Instagram story, Desmond offered her perspective on what caused her marriage of nearly 12 years to fall apart.

“Kristy and I faced challenges and made sincere efforts to overcome them,” he explained. “Toward the end of 2025, I wanted to separate and I had conversations with Kristy about that.”

Desmond admitted he made “choices I’m not proud of” while trying to get over his split from Kristy.

“I took responsibility for these actions,” he insisted. “I shared this with her directly and personally, and we ultimately decided to divorce. I ask for privacy and compassion as we navigate this difficult chapter in our lives.”

The chef concluded his Instagram story by thanking “everyone who has supported” his family over the years.

“I am grateful for this support and will continue to share my love of cooking and the things that inspire me,” promised Desmond. “I hope you continue this journey with me.”

Kristy has yet to respond to her estranged husband’s Instagram post.

The influencers met when they were 14 years old and married in 2014. After their 10th wedding anniversary in August 2024, Kristy and Desmond confirmed in people that they had thrown a big party “centered on floral elegance”.

“Our guests felt as if they were entering a garden,” they said in a joint statement. “Our goal was to be elegant and timeless.”

Looking back on how far they’ve come, Kristy and Desmond said: “We were teenagers and hadn’t even developed any style preferences, so this was our chance to redo our wedding as the adults we are now, celebrating the life we’ve built and traveled so far.”

Desmond and Kristy have appeared frequently on each other’s social media throughout their marriage. Over the years, Kristy has reached 9.5 million followers on Instagram and 16.8 million on TikTok, while Desmond has 1.8 million followers on Instagram and 1.5 million on TikTok.

Kristy recently posted on TikTok to share her banana bread recipe on Tuesday, Jan. 6, but made no obvious mention of a pending divorce filing. His last post with Desmond was in December 2025.
