Kohler opens a camera for your toilet


Housing company Kohler recently unveiled a new device called Dekoda – a $599 camera that can be attached to your toilet bowl and take pictures of what’s inside.

Cnet report If Dekoda analyzes the image to provide you with gut health and hydration, and can detect blood. It also comes with a rechargeable battery, a USB connection, and a fingerprint sensor to identify who is using the toilet.

Decoder is now available for pre-orderwith shipping scheduled for October 21st. Apart from the hardware purchase fee, customers will have to pay between $70 and $156 for the subscription.

If you’re worried about the privacy implications of placing a camera below your private parts, the company says, “the Dekoda sensor sees into your toilet and nothing else.” It also notes that the results are secure through end-to-end encryption.
