Kimberly Williams-Paisley remember late Father of the Bride to cost Diane KeatonThe motherly advice from when they worked together on the 1991 film and the 1995 sequel.
“I remember having a lot of anxiety during those two movies,” Williams-Paisley, 54, said during the Friday, Oct. 24, episode of iHeart. “call it what it is” podcast “I mean, I was 19 in the first one. It was the first big role I had, and Diane was like a mother figure to me that was very secure.”
“I told him about my anxiety. I had a lot of dreams,” he continued. “I’m a big dreamer, literally a big dreamer, but I would have, like, weird nightmares and weird (things), and I think it was, like, me working through my anxiety in the middle of the night, and she would analyze the dreams with me.”
Williams-Paisley said she believes anxiety was something Keaton “probably dealt with as well,” saying the actress “didn’t have easy answers” to her questions. “I think he had people he trusted that he talked to.”
The stars of the iconic Father of the Bride franchise will forever remember their matriarch, Diane Keaton. On Saturday, October 11, news broke that Keaton had died at the age of 79. Keaton died on October 11 at the age of 79. His death certificate is listed primary bacterial pneumonia as the cause of his death without underlying causes. Williams-Paisley said she initially saw a notification on her phone with Keaton’s name on it earlier that day, but assumed it was “another movie” or “something else” Keaton was working on. It wasn’t until “later in the day” that he was on social media and saw tributes to his former co-star.
Williams-Paisley shared her own tribute to Keaton via Instagram.
“Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life. You are one of a kind, and it was exciting to be in your orbit for a while. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and most of all, your laughter. 🙏🏻🕊️💔❤️❤️❤️,” she posted in October.
The The farmer wants a wife The host told the podcast that Keaton was a “huge part” of his life.
“She was so generous and so funny and wise and wonderful and above all
the second movie, I felt like we really bonded and, you know, just laughed,” Williams-Paisley said. “Like, the humor clicked, and it was really fun to be on set when she was on set.”
The late Diane Keaton chose an unconventional path to parenthood when she adopted her children in her late 50s, and she was candid about the reason behind her decision. “I didn’t think I would ever be ready to be a mother,” Keaton, who died on Saturday at the age of 79 (…)
She also recalled fond memories with Keaton, including when they visited a swap meet while filming Father of the Bride Part II.
“She said, ‘I’m going to the swap meet this weekend.’ Do you want to go there? And I said, ‘Yeah,’ and I’m not, like I’ve ever been, an exchange person,” Williams-Paisley said. “I didn’t know how to do it. She knew that, and she showed up, and it was like a hot day, and she showed up in her full Diane Keaton (look), you know, hat, hat, and tie. He might even have had gloves on.”
Keaton then opened the trunk of his car to retrieve a shopping cart and gave Williams-Paisley $5.
“She says, ‘Go buy something. And I’m going to go buy something too.” And we went with her sister. I’m pretty sure it was her sister, and she went shopping and I went, and I said, “What am I supposed to buy? How am I supposed to know? Like, what would Diane Keaton think is great?'” Williams-Paisley recalled. “And I think I remember buying, like, a plastic flower. I don’t know, what could I find for $5? We met again, like, 20 minutes later, and his cart was full of stuff. He had a clown painting. He would never have chosen it, but he found treasures. I just thought it was really funny.”
