A police officer at Kenyan patrolling the international Haiti security forces killed in a confrontation with gang members.
The officer is the first casualty suffering Missational Security Security Security Mission (MSS).
The force has been sent to Haai in June last year to help restore the country’s order, where gangs got nearly across the capital, port-au-prince in rural areas.
More than 5,500 people were killed in violence associated with Haiti’s gang in 2024 and more than one million people fled their homes.
The commander of the multinational force, Gen Godfrey Otugange, said the police officer was injured in Artibonite, a northern region.
Gen Otugce said the officer, who had not been named, readily sent to the hospital, where he died a short time.
Jack ombaka, the MSS spokesman, said to a statement sent to Reuters News Agency that the official “fallen hero”, while the Kenya’s foree ministry said it was “heartfelt loss” the official.
Mr. Ombaka said the officer was shot by a gang member of a city security operation at Pont-Sondé.
He added that multinational strength “will pursue these gangs in the last person standing”.
