Neild started working for Jon and Kate Gosselin after their reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8 became a blockbuster hit for TLC. Neild continued to work for Kate after she and Jon divorced in 2009.
Kate denied they were having an affair
Rumors that Kate and Neild had an affair came up when she and Jon were divorcing in 2009. For NBC WashingtonKate shut down those rumors in 2009.
“The next story that comes out about the animals chasing us is about our security person and his family,” he said in an interview with People at the time, referring to Neild. “The accusations they make about me are already disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable and I am appalled.”
He got a new job in 2013
Neild took a new job at Viacom as a security consultant in 2013 and started his own company in 2020.
Steve Neild divorced in 2023
Neild was married to an ex-wife Gina Neild from September 1990 until they divorced in September 2023. The couple share two children, Christopher i Michael. In his divorce suit, obtained by wehe listed the marriage date as September 22, 1990 and noted that they were married in a ceremony in Auckland, New Zealand.

When asked if she was dating, Kate replied: “The answer to that question is ultimately yes. I’ve been dating someone for the last year for a little over a year, maybe like 14, 15 months.”
She added: “I’m super, super happy. He’s someone I’ve known for a long time and I’m really, really happy.”
Kate also told fans they shouldn’t expect to see too much of Neild on social media. As she put it, “He doesn’t really want to be on TikToks. I can’t really blame him, I guess, but maybe you’ll see him here and there or occasionally in the future.”
Jon hinted that Kate cheated after their relationship was revealed

The couple’s son Collin, who is estranged from his mother, also wrote on social media: “What really upsets me is that my mother had an affair with our bodyguard in 2009 and for years shared hotel rooms with him while we went on family vacations, while I was in a connecting room! Now everyone thinks her being with him is a cute novel. ‘having an affair’ and ‘leaving her kids’.”
Jon repeated this claim in an interview with The Sun published October 2025.
