Kaley Cuoco reflects on being ‘so depressed’ during divorce from Karl Cook


Kaley Cuoco is getting candid about the fallout from her 2022 divorce Carl Cook.

“It was the premiere of the second season of Flight assistanceand I woke up that morning, I was so depressed and so sad, I couldn’t even breathe and I was just lying on the floor. I literally thought I was going to die. I really did. I was like, ‘What am I doing?'” Cuoco, 40, said during a recent interview, which will air on Monday, February 9. Cuoco noted that the moment was “the worst morning” of her life, despite thinking about the premiere of Flight assistance — which was canceled in 2024 after two seasons on Max — was supposed to “be the best night.”

“It’s crazy that sometimes things happen at the same time,” he said. “My team came to prepare me and they literally prepared me on the floor. I couldn’t get up. I was like, ‘I can’t go.’ I can’t go anywhere. I blew up my life. My life is over.” I really thought that. Never get married again. I’ll never have kids. That’s it.”

Cuoco continued, “I knew when I was laying on my floor at home, I thought, ‘Oh my God, this is what they’re talking about. This is the lowest point I could ever get.'”

“I had prayed and I feel my soul has died,” he said. I feel my soul died, and I had also said: I think I made a magazine. It was like, “I’m never getting married again.” I said, I believed that moment, (and then) I met Tom.”

From Cuoco’s perspective, it’s okay to change your mind about marriage.

“Sometimes you just change your mind and that’s okay,” he said. “You probably didn’t know that I was lying on the floor before my premiere ready to die, that’s for sure… It still chokes me up because I remember it so clearly, but it made me a whole new person. But it takes a long time. It takes a long time to figure it out and a lot of forgiveness.”

Cuoco began dating Cook, now 35, in 2016 after a three-year marriage to a tennis player. Ryan Sweeting. Cuoco and Cook married in 2018, announcing their separation three years later.
