Justin Baldoni Claims Blake Lively Tried To ‘Catch’ Him On ‘It Ends With Us’


Justin Baldoni he once claimed that Blake Lively was trying to set him up “for a trap” while filming 2024 End With Us by not using a body double, according to the new unsealed text messages.

In legal documents filed by Lively’s management company, WME, on Monday, Jan. 5, and obtained by Us Weeklya text exchange between Baldoni, 41, and his former WME agent Danny Greenbergdetailed his concerns on set on December 30, 2023.

“Hey man, I had a really bad week,” Baldoni, who directed and starred alongside Lively, 38, in End With Usbegan before recapping the couple’s alleged interactions. “She (Lively) had the audacity to email me directly and invite me to a meeting alone at her house if I wanted. She has turned down a body double that now Sony (distributor of the film) and Todd (blacka producer of the film) have to step in to make sure this happens because this is just setting me up for a trap. Even though she’s making me have one.”

Baldoni’s texts, which were made public as part of a motion filed by WME seeking, as part of Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit against Baldoni, that the court keep the additional private texts and communications sealed, included other claims against Lively de Baldoni. “She’s rejected all my Story Boards for the sex scenes…she’s trying to keep all…our clothes for the big love scene, which is ridiculous if you know the book,” he wrote. “This is all just gigantic bullshit, and yet I’m trying my best to stay positive, even though it’s been really draining and time-consuming on this hiatus dealing with an actress who’s being rewritten by the writer and director.”

Meanwhile, Lively filed her lawsuit against Baldoni and her production company, Wayfarer Studios, in December 2024 alleging sexual harassment, retaliation and a smear campaign designed to destroy her career.

Baldoni has denied all allegations made against him and filed a countersuit the following month seeking $400 million in damages and claiming he was subjected to civil extortion, defamation, invasion of privacy in false light and more. Her countersuit was also filed against Lively’s husband, Ryan Reynoldsand his publicist Leslie Sloane. a judge dismissed countersuit in June 2025, with Lively’s original lawsuit set to go to trial in New York City in March.

Baldoni’s text exchange continued: “I’ve gone through the whole script, I’m giving him 95 percent of what he wants for peace, but this is just a brutal experience.”

After several responses from Greenberg that discussed possible mediation options, Baldoni responded, “I’m doing my best to stay positive and give him as many wins as possible to get this over with, but it’s going to be difficult at some point. Warren (Zavalaa WME talent agent) must know he’s destroying his reputation.”

The director concluded, “Where we’re going to need the most help is during editing because I’m not going to get everything she wants and I can see that’s going to be a big problem.”

Five days after the exchange of texts, Lively, who also served as producer End With Uscalled a face-to-face meeting attended by Baldoni, Black, Reynolds, 49, a Sony executive Angel Gianettiproduction partner Alex Saks and CEO of Wayfarer Studios, Jamey Heath. Through their respective legal filings over the past year, Baldoni and Lively have presented different versions of what the January 4, 2024 meeting entailed.
