JoJo Swa wants to show up again.
On Wednesday, December 31, Siwa, 22, subtly changed her display name on her TikTok profile to her full moniker, Joelle Siwa. In a video uploaded that same day, Siwa hinted at possible plans for the new year.
“Any plans for 2026?” he wrote alongside the video which was set to his 2016 song ‘Boomerang’.
In the clip, Siwa wore a ponytail with a black bow reminiscent of her signature look when she starred in Dmothers.
Siwa lip synced, “I’ll be back like a boomerang.”
Captioning the video, Siwa teased “what a year ahead.”
After the change, fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts.
“Who is Joelle Siwa,” several users asked, while another joked: “Ummm joelle Siwa? I missed a few episodes.”
Several fans also explained that Joelle is Siwa’s full name.
“Her real name is Joelle, Jojo was just a nickname. Are you new here?” joked one user.
While some fans were in disbelief over the change, others were supportive of Siwa.
“She’s changed her account name from jojo to joelle🥺 I love that she’s finally comfortable being herself instead of the person she’s been hiding behind,” one fan wrote, while another said: “Joelle feels so real, wishing you all the best in 2026.”
Changing his name isn’t the only surprising thing Siwa did last year. The dancer shocked fans after he started dating her famous big brother to cost Chris Hughes. The pair formed a friendship while competing on the British reality series, which turned romantic after the show ended.
“What’s special about Chris and I is that our bond is so genuine that neither of us care what people make of it,” Siwa exclusively said. Us Weekly about his connection with Hughes in May 2025 digital cover story. “Because we know our genuine friendship and we know our bond. It’s a great special friendship that we have. And I literally send him videos of us dancing all the time.”
Hughes said later we that things got serious between him and Siwa as the duo have had discussions about their future.
“We talk honestly about it,” Hughes said in July 2025. “When you’re absolutely in love with each other and you’re in love with someone, I think it’s fun to wait for those things.”
The Love Island UK alum continued, “Of course I want to get married. I would never shy away from saying that. I want to get married and one day I want to have kids. We both come from very loving families and very healthy caring families… So it would be nice to reciprocate in the future.”
Last month, Siwa shared a sweet tribute in honor of Hughes’ 33rd birthday.
“This day 33 years ago was a good day…the day my favorite person was born🤍,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “Happy birthday my love. I couldn’t imagine a life without you anymore, you are the best friend, son, brother and boyfriend. You make my life better every day that goes by. Everyone who knows you is lucky. I love you much, much more than the little ones.🤍🤍🤍.”
