Former Little Mix singer jesy nelson he stated this she tried to kill herself before leaving the band in 2020.
“I basically sat everyone down and just explained how I felt,” Nelson, 34, said on his Prime Video docuseries. Life After Little Mix, revealing how he perceived bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall i Leigh-Anne Pinnockthe reactions in front of their overwhelming panic attacks and the desire to stop acting. “I just felt like no one cared.”
Nelson claimed that one of his bandmates responded succinctly: “Are you done? Is that it? Can I go now?”
Hearing his bandmate’s comment made Nelson feel particularly lonely.
“(I felt) like this doesn’t make sense,” she said through tears. “No one cares.”
Nelson’s mother, Janice Whiteshe also began to notice her daughter feeling “down and very down” after the argument.
“(She) didn’t talk much,” White said in the document. “She really wanted to be alone, and I just had the feeling that something was wrong. I kept ringing and ringing (her phone), and then I didn’t get an answer. She finally answered the phone, but she was talking really well, and I could hear the phone drop and then I didn’t hear anything else. I knew she had done something else.”
Nelson was later hospitalized.
“I was so sad, like, I was so depressed,” she recalled. “I knew from the moment I got out of the hospital that mentally I couldn’t (continue in the band), and before I could have a discussion with the girls, I had to figure out where I was legally in terms of, ‘Could I get out of this now?'”
Nelson said the band’s lawyer “unfortunately” told the other singers his plans to leave the group before he could say anything.

I had mentally prepared myself and said, ‘I want to sit down with the girls and I want to talk to them and tell them why I did what I did and how I felt.’
Nelson further claimed that Edwards, 32, Thirlwall, 33, and Pinnock, 34, I wouldn’t agree to talk to her unless a therapist was present.
“I just got out of the hospital, that’s when I need you the most,” Nelson recalled. “I didn’t feel like they were my sisters. It’s been five years now and every time I think about it, I’m like, ‘Was it them or was it management?'”
Nelson was set to leave Little Mix in 2020 after struggling with his mental health.
“They gave us the TV show The Search Whoever the winner was, then he was going to be the support act for us on the last tour, which obviously no one knew was the last tour,” he recalled on the Prime Video docuseries. “Now, because of the (COVID) lockdown, the tour won’t be for another two years. I just remember saying, ‘I can’t do it. I physically can’t do it. I know I can’t last two more years the way I feel.”
According to Nelson, there were days when she felt like “a really miserable dog.”
“The little things eventually add up and add up and, yes, they come to a boiling point at some point,” he said. “I had been locked up, I felt this happiness and now I was filled with this wave of anxiety and insecurities, which I didn’t have when I was at home and locked up and felt safe. Then I had panic attacks again.”
Nelson continued, “When I went back to work and then I just had this fear of acting; for me to be afraid of acting was so abnormal, because when I was on stage, that was the place I felt the safest. I didn’t like recording anymore.”
Small mix announced Nelson’s departure in December 2020, a year before Edwards, Thirlwall and Pinnock went on an indefinite hiatus as a group.
