Jeremy Allen White was honored at the 2025 Gotham Independent Film Awards for his transformative performance in Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nothing.

“We’re so grateful that Bruce allowed us to come into (his) space. And tell a story that’s never been told to himself and never mythologized,” White said as he accepted the award, struggling to pronounce the word “mythologize.”
“Sorry guys, I’m so tired,” he joked about the mistake, drawing laughter from the audience.
He continued: “He let us know the most human, vulnerable, searching and that kind of trust is rare. It’s a gift and it’s the reason this film exists. So to receive this award tonight for portraying a cultural icon by refusing to treat him as such is something we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.”
The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced in November White and Cooper, 55, would be among the honorees at the annual independent film gala.
“Bruce Springsteen has captivated audiences for more than fifty years and cemented his place as one of the greatest American musicians, songwriters and performers in history,” said the executive director of the Gotham Film & Media Institute. Jeffrey Sharphe said in a statement.
