The director who filmed Jennifer LopezGlambot’s video at Golden Globes 2026 responded to fans who claimed the singer was “rude” during their interaction.
Canadian filmmaker Cole Walliserwho got Lopez, 56, to take part in her fashion close-up series Glambot And! on sunday 11 january, the red carpet of the awards ceremony, was taken to TikTok on Sunday, January 18, to respond to criticism directed at the star.
“I didn’t take it personally, I didn’t think it was rude at the time,” Walliser, 44, told fans in his video as he explained why Lopez didn’t talk to him before the cameras rolled. “One, it’s just business … she’s ready to come in, she knew what she was going to do when she got into the position and I think it was a shame that the position was looking away from me.”
Lopez, who attended the ceremony as a presenter, drew criticism from Walliser’s followers on social media after she posted her Glambot video via TikTok after the event. “My favorite part was when he wasn’t looking at you, talking to you or smiling at you,” one fan commented, while another wrote: “Jesus Cole, did JLo say a word to you?”

Walliser defended Lopez in her Sunday post, shedding light on the pressure celebrities face when she asks for their participation in her Glambot setup. “Glambots are completely elective, no one is forcing you to do these things,” he explained. “If you want to do it, you can, if you’re in a bad mood, you don’t…you have to. Anyone who stops by, I already like you because you’re taking the time to do mine and that’s generous of you.”
As for Lopez’s taping, Walliser added that he has been “preparing” and that he knew filming would be rushed due to the start of the ceremony. “Right now, I’m not like, ‘Hey, turn around,'” he said. “That moment was not rude.”

The director also thanked fans for “having my back” as a famous filmmaker.
