Jaron Ennis Vergil Ortiz Jr. said. The fight for 2026 Q1 is close

Jaron Boots Ennis is ready to set the middleweight division on fire, and he has his sights set on Vergil Ortiz Jr.

After his debut at 154 pounds where he knocked out Wisma Lima in one round last October, Ennis is looking for gold. He recently shared that a big fight with Ortiz for the interim WBC title is nearing the finish line.

Ennis said Crash Hub TV he believes that match is very close to being a reality. He encouraged fans to stay tuned and keep their fingers crossed for an official announcement. While Ennis pushed for the fight to land in the first quarter of 2026, he said the final details are currently being worked out by the promoters.

The Philadelphia man clearly stated his desire for this next fight. We are waiting for the paperwork to be completed so that all fighters can sign on the dotted line. Ennis is focused on proving he is the top dog in his new weight class and sees Ortiz as the perfect bridge to a world title.

If Ortiz can’t get it done, Ennis has no intention of slowing down. He stated that his goal is to collect all the belts at 154 pounds. Whether it’s a champion or another big name in the division, Ennis wants the big challenges to come. He feels that the division is his and plans to take down one enemy at a time.

“I have high hopes. I think the fight will happen. Everyone be aware, and keep your fingers crossed,” Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis told Fight Hub TV about his hopes for the fight with Vergil Ortiz Jr.

“If Vergil isn’t the next one, we want any championship or any big name, division 154 is mine. I’m ready to take every division, and show that I’m the best in the world,” said Ennis.
