James Van Der Beek’s wife Kimberly shares first post after his death


James Van Der Beekthe wife of Kimberly Van Der Beekreturns to social media to share a special musical tribute in her honor deceased husband.

In an Instagram story posted on Thursday, February 12, Kimberly re-shared a video originally created by the country singer. Alana Springsteen.

“RIP james van der beek 🙏🏻💔 this loss hit me hard today,” Springsteen, 25, wrote via Instagram on Wednesday February 12. “So much childhood was lived as a backdrop to his work. Praying for his beautiful family.”

The singer, who proceeded to play a rendition of Dawson’s Creek theme song or Paula Cole“I Don’t Want to Wait” single – also provided aa link GoFundMe page that was originally created by friends of the Van Der Beek family.

In just one day, more than 35,000 donors have raised $1.8 million for Kimberly and the six children she shared with James.

“The link to the gofundme his friends started to help with his expenses is in my bio if you feel led to support,” Springsteen wrote.

It was reported on Wednesday that James died peacefully at the age of 48.

“She met her final days with courage, faith and grace,” a statement to James and Kimberly Instagram pages to read “There is much to share about his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. We now ask for peaceful privacy as we mourn our beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend.”

James was previously diagnosed stage III colorectal cancer and was receiving care in Texas.

Before his death, the actor was able to spend quality time with some of his loved ones closest friendsincluded Stacy Keibler i Alfonso Ribeiro.

“In these last few days, you taught me more about being present than any book,” Keibler, 46, wrote via Instagram on wednesday “You’ve shown me what it’s like to trust God’s plan, even when it breaks your heart. Especially when it breaks your heart.”

In a separate post on social media, Ribeiro, 54, added“I was with him on this horrible journey to beat cancer. His family and friends made this a roller coaster ride. The highs when it looked like he had hit the lows back. I’ve learned so much from James. He and @vanderkimberly changed my life. I will always be indebted for everything they have given me and my family.”

Since James’ death was confirmed, dozens upon dozens of co-stars and friends have shared their fondest memories of meeting the actor and family member.

One of the most personal tributes came from James Dawson’s Creek to cost Katie Holmes.

“James, thank you. Sharing space with your imagination is sacred – breathing the same air in the land of imagination and trusting that each other’s hearts are safe in their expression,” Holmes, 47, wrote via Instagram on Thursday “I mourn this loss with a heart that endures the reality of his absence and a deep gratitude for his imprint.”
