Halloween is still creeping up, though Frankenstein actor Jacob Lord he’s already scaring fans in the best way possible.
The euphoria the 28-year-old star transformed into the legendary Frankenstein’s monster, known as “The Creature” by Guillermo del Toro‘s movie, sending shivers down your spine in a shocking new photo that shows Elordi looking completely unrecognizable from his latest role.
In the new portrait, Elordi’s skin appears pale and ashen, with deep, dark shadows around his eyes that give him an empty, haunting look. Realistic jagged scars run across her face, which has a dark expression, and her lips are colorless, adding to the gothic and spooky effect.
The actor’s co-stars Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer i Christoph Waltz they were also seen in character, wearing Victorian-inspired outfits in images shared via Netflix’s official Instagram account on Friday, October 24.

Courtesy of NetflixElordi’s transformation, including his long, stringy hair, is certainly the most striking and highlights the craftsmanship of the skilled makeup team, who spent 10 hours each day preparing him for filming on sets in Toronto, Canada and Scotland.
“When you make a movie like this you’re wasting your time,” Elordi said variety in August “I didn’t have breakfast, lunch or dinner, nor did I think in terms of morning, afternoon, night. It was just once.”
Taking on this challenging role “changed me fundamentally, it changed the way I approach performance and the way I see films,” Elordi continued.
In addition, his character goes through quite a metamorphosis internally and externally. “There is so many different layers in disguise – Elordi explained – when he is born, he wears almost nothing. His chest is open and his head is high. Then, as you begin to experience pain, as we do as a teenager, your shoulders begin to sag. And as an adult, it shuts down.”
This sentiment is echoed in a review of The Hollywood Reporterwho noted, “The film questions whether monstrosity is something defined by appearance or actions.”
In order to prepare his scenes, the Saltburn the star would practice her tired walk and gestures in front of the mirror. In addition, he would sometimes show up on set at 10:00 PM the night before to begin the process, earning praise from Del Toro, who said Elordi showed the utmost professionalism.
“He never came to me to complain,” added the 61-year-old del Toro. “He never came to me and said, ‘I’m tired. I’m hungry. Can I go?’ And he put in 20-hour days.”
Elordi won it later Andrew Garfield he left the project before filming began in March 2024, citing scheduling conflicts.
Del Toro then had nine weeks to secure a new top star. Not only did they have the same vision for the motivation behind the character, but Elordi had the X-factor I was looking for.
“Jacob’s eyes are so full of humanity,” del Toro said. “I throw it because of his eyes”.
Frankenstein is now in select theaters and will stream on Netflix on November 7th.
