As a historian of modern Palestine and Israel, he has witnessed decades of diplomatic frameworks collapsing into something much more ominous. What we are witnessing now is the rapid unraveling of what used to be called the two-state solution. The Oslo accords disappeared amid the institutional collapse of the Palestinian Authority, the rise of settler violence and the de facto annexation of the West Bank. Is Israel’s intention to completely take over the Palestinian territories?
