Instagram’s newest feature lets you go back and view the reels you’ve watched


Instagram announced This Friday you will go back and view previously watched reels for the new “Watch History” feature. Rival tiktok already has Watch History Features It’s been years now.

With the new feature, you can go back and find videos you may not have had a chance to save. For example, you may be watching an interesting reel and then receive a call, or accidentally close the app while watching, or you will be distracted by something else and lose your place in the Reels feed.

Just like in Tiktok, you can sort your watch history by date, last week or last month, or some specific dates. Additionally, you can remove reels from your watch history if you wish.

History Watch Instagram offers more flexibility compared to Tiktok, because you can sort videos in chronological or reverse order, or by author.

Instagram said the feature was requested among users. Previously, users found workarounds to recover lost videos, such as downloading data from apps and edits to retrieve watch history. These features make the process of finding lost videos easier and can eliminate the need for these types of workarounds. In addition, bringing Instagram will see the experience on par with Tiktok.

Since its launch as a Tiktok clone, Meta has created Instagram reels with features already available in the popular short app. Recently, Instagram Started Allowing Creators Connect multiple reels in series and launch support for Picture-in-picture Viewingboth of which are available on Tiktok.
