Nick Reiner Since then he has been living in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles he was arrested in December 2025 for allegedly killing his parents, Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner.
About a month after Nick, 32, moved into the facility on December 15, 2025, Us Weekly he has had an idea of his current living situation.
According to the Twin Towers Correctional Unit order manual obtained by Us Weekly, Reiner and fellow inmates are served breakfast around 6 a.m. each day. Lunch is served around 10:30 or 11 am, while inmates enjoy dinner around 5 pm. The prison usually serves cold food for breakfast and lunch, while a hot meal is usually served for dinner.
If an inmate misses one of his regularly scheduled meals, the jail will provide him with a sandwich, fruit, and a drink in lieu of that meal.

In addition, the dietary staff takes into account the medical diets that have been previously requested by the medical services staff. The manual states that inmates on medical diets that require more than three meals a day must be served supplemental food.
Some of the prisoners, among them Reinerthey require special treatment due to factors such as mental and physical health needs or because they are considered high risk. An inmate may be considered for special treatment at the request of an attorney, the district attorney’s office, the inmate himself, or another person.
The purpose of special treatment is to protect and segregate the incarcerated. According to the handbook, special treatment inmates are “identified by the color and classification symbol displayed on their wristband.” The system helps ensure that inmates are properly classified and housed in the prison.
In order to qualify for special treatment, inmates must have a special management form (SH-J-181) completed and submitted to the watch commander for approval and signature, according to the handbook. If the application is approved, the form will be sent to the IRC Classification Unit for possible reclassification. While the decision is being made, the inmate will be isolated from others until the IRC completes its review and a disposition is reached.
Nick was originally put on suicide watch, though he is no longer on duty and the prison took out the suicide prevention vest before I had to wear it at all times.
The prison has established procedures for suicidal or mental observation of prisoners with special treatment. According to the manual, adjunct staff who see an inmate exhibiting unusual behavior that could cause him or her to injure themselves should report the behavior on a psychiatric referral form.
If a mental health professional determines that an inmate with a Special Handling Classification needs mental health care, staff will ensure that the health and safety of the inmate is the primary concern.
Police reportedly responded to multiple “disturbances” at the home of Rob Reiner and Michele Singer Reiner prior to their deaths. Los Angeles Police Department records obtained by the Daily Mail on Tuesday, Dec. 23, showed that authorities responded to calls at the late couple’s property in Brentwood, California, “at least six times” in “more than a decade.” The report (…)
The Medical Liaison Sergeant, Deputy TTCF PPO, and mental health staff will consult to determine the best appropriate housing location for the inmate in need of mental health care. Staff will consider the safety of the facility, the inmate and their mental health as they determine next steps.
Some ways to care for suicidal inmates include being accompanied by custodial staff at all times, not being allowed to participate in any group activities, being handcuffed during mental health interviews, and making staff members aware of inmates’ needs before working with them.
Nick was arrested just one day after Rob and Michele were found dead in their Brentwood, California home with apparent stab wounds. He was later charged with two counts of first-degree murder and has yet to enter a plea until his hearing on Wednesday, January 7.
