influencer Melissa Mae Carlton has returned to social media less than three months after the tragic and sudden death of her young daughter, Molly.
“On December 25th I came here and asked the 30,000 people following me to get down on their knees and pray for a miracle,” Carlton wrote via his Instagram stories on Friday, February 6. “Today, I am asking again if you will pray for our family as we bury our sweet Molly today because I believe in the power of prayer.”
She continued, “Please pray that we will be lifted up and have angels around us to get us through this day. We are very bad. Thank you for all the prayers and for every temple prayer that has been put to us. I love you all. If you want, wear pink with us today.”
Melissa and her husband, Tom Carltonannounced in December 2025 that his daughter Molly died after experiencing an unknown health complication. (The Carltons are also parents to daughter Lily, son Harry and daughter Abigail, who died in April 2024 aged 9.)
“On Christmas morning, our sweet girl Molly and her big sister Abi were reunited,” Melissa wrote in a statement on Instagram. “We are devastated. In disbelief. Confused and in shock. We are exhausted and in shock after a day of trauma and heartbreak.”
She continued: “I feel numb. I still can’t accept that this is real. I’m not ready for this pain… I’m scared of what life is like for us now. My heart is broken for our children.”

Melissa went on to explain that she had not received an “official diagnosis” that could provide information on Molly’s cause of death.
“Doctors believe that Molly had a genetic heart condition and suspect that it may have been the case with Abi as well,” he said. he wrote in a follow-up post that same month “I’m sharing this because I think it could be critical information for families who have experienced SUDC (Sudden Unexpected Death in Children). This understanding came about because Molly was able to be monitored in the hospital, which we weren’t able to do with Abi. I’ve never been satisfied with the answers we’ve been given for her. But this type of illness, they’ve even told us out of the blue a potential cardiac event.”
She continued, “That morning, we he witnessed many small miracles. Paramedics were stationed just three minutes away and arrived quickly. The pediatric trauma center was only fifteen minutes from where we were. We were in the best possible place, with everything lined up for the best conditions and the best result.”
According to Melissa, “Molly’s little body fought hard.”
“We’ve been told that this type of cardiac event, in most cases, is not survivable,” the influencer said. “I hope we will have more answers soon and do more genetic research for our family now that we possibly have a clearer path to explore.”
Melissa had taken a step back from posting content on social media in light of Molly’s death.
