“It still blows my mind,” Shipka continued. “I actually think the older I get and the further away I get, the weirder and wilder it is to process the fact that this was part of my life and it’s something I’m a part of, but it’s cool.
For the uninitiated, Shipka memorably played young Sally Draper, daughter of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) and Betty Draper (January Jones) — on the award-winning show for all seven seasons, meaning the actress literally grew up on set. Shipka played Sabrina Spellman on Netflix The Chilling Adventures of Sabrinaalthough he has always credited it Mad Men to become your own personal acting school.
“Someone told me the other day that they were looking Mad Men on HBO Max, and then it goes to, like, a trailer for industryand I’m doing a very grown-up thing and it’s kind of, like, wild that it’s been so long,” Shipka explained to we on Thursday “But it’s exciting and I will always owe him literally everything here Mad Men.”
Now, Shipka enters the delightfully dark world of industryjoining Season 4 as Hayley Clay, an executive assistant at a tech firm described as a “party girl”. According to Shipka, the role was complex and a total joy to film.

I loved her.”
Part of the fun of playing the character, Shipka said, was immersing herself in the world of the “party girl.”
“So funny! Oh my god, I mean, I’ve done enough research and development in my own life,” he joked. we. “It’s good that I finally got to wear it.”

“I just hope it surprises them,” Shipka said. “I was surprised by her. I was surprised to read it. I never knew what her next move was, and I really hope people don’t see what’s coming.”
