Defending champions India have secured their place in the Super Eight stage of the cricket tournament by defeating Pakistan by 61 runs in the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup Group A match in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Ishan Kishan’s brilliant 77 helped Suryakumar Yadav’s team to 175-7 and bundle out Pakistan for 114 runs in 18 overs.
Sunday’s loss added to Pakistan’s dismal record against India in the World Cup.
India have now won eight out of nine matches in the T20 World Cup, as well as all eight matches in the ODI World Cup.

It has been more than 18 years since India and Pakistan last met in a Test match and 13 years since the two sides crossed the border to play a bilateral series.
