It’s been two months since I ate the last bread. The market is declining as Israel stopped almost all the help in Gaza on March 2. After the blockade, food prices dropped. Sugar and flour disappeared, fruits and vegetables became a rare view and only red lentils in the market were available.
Like many of the food storage ManY during the January war, the fear of another strict round of drought, my family and I made a dangerous decision to store anything. We had done so before, but when the Israeli soldiers reached our area with their tanks, everything lost.
At that moment, you do not think about food. You have forgotten about your empty stomach and weak body. You just calculate your loved ones, make sure that you match the number of what you remember and get rid of it.
While we were making this decision of our own voluntary, many had no choice – to take shelter in our house with four families in the neighborhood. The battle lost the income of the breadwinners: the taxi driver, a taxi driver, co-owner of the destroyed plastic manufacturing workshop, an electrician who rarely works since Israel has closed electricity and there is nothing left to sell.
Now all the families who shelter in my house, almost completely red lentils, only water, lentils and salt are alive, nothing else. We often drink it with a spoon. We rarely submerge in bread as the prices of flour are rising in the last two months, it has become difficult to come in the simplest meal, 60 to 100 shells ($ 7.72 – .3 14.31 per pound).
Day by day, we introduced a new verb in Arabic Lexicon, Taddasate, which is approximately “I have been lanteded”, meaning one of the two campaigns of the day: eating Lentil soup.
At the end of May, the news about the US-supported Gaza humanitarian food (GHF) leader began to broaden. Social media users have claimed that every family will get a portion of flour, sugar, biscuits and canned food – enough for a week.
The report indicates that GHF distribution sites will only open in three places of Rafa – the Israeli Army Corridor. Later, another issue was opened in favor of the Netzarim corridor, which divides Ghaza into two parts. This was the first red flag: Why would the hunger be expected to go to the fighter zone to get food? And why were all the sites in the southern part of the bar?
As the infrastructure inquiry started, my doubts about GHF began to increase. Israel refuses to finance GHF. However, sources of American government said that the initiative originated from the same state that has frequently used food as weapons: Israel.
But for at least a moment, the lack of food I thought of going to the HF. For people in Northern Gaza like me, the only realistic choice seemed to wait for the operating of the Netzerim Corridor site to start. Nevertheless, it was terrible to move towards the previous kilo zone for the Israeli army.
As we stopped, the Rafa distribution point was working. On May 27, the scenes of the first day were terrible. Many Palestine disappeared; Three people were killed and dozens of injured after the Israeli soldiers opened fire on the crowd. Some argued that a limited fire was needed to maintain order, but the subsequent massacre, in which more than 300 people were killed could not be justified.
The Israeli army has consistently rejected the massacre, branding the “exaggerated claims” and moved to Hamas with misleading videos. But it is easy to know the truth for people in Gaza.
Rafa’s GHH distribution point on Tuesday’s massacre told me that after the time of delivery time, the Israeli soldiers were near the road, “hunt people as if they are ducks”.
The inventor from Southern Gaza told me that he looked at the gangs of Palestine thieves in point and to create a buffer between the American staff, “worked next to GHF workers”.

GHF workers and Israeli troops enabled a system of chaos in distribution points. There is no clear or consistent share for each person. The stronger and armed person they want to steal from others in the full view of employees.
GHF workers described as a “experienced crisis operator” are the backdrop to harassing workers. Phil Relley, CEO of the Safe Rech Solutions (SRS) assistance to the GHF, was a senior vice president of the American company who was genocidal in Iraq in 2007.
