Hundreds of thousands of people stranded by violent floods that swept through Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia on Tuesday are facing increasingly alarming shortages of food and fuel. Nearly 1,200 died in flash floods caused by monsoon rains and cyclones.
