As part of a US-brokered ‘ceasefire’, the Rafah border crossing is operational again.
The Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt has finally reopened after months of closure as a result of Israel’s devastating war on the Gaza Strip.
It was hoped that freedom of movement would alleviate the dire humanitarian crisis created by the war.
But Israel imposes strict conditions on who can leave and who can enter the Strip.
Now, only a few people are allowed to go in either direction – mainly for medical migration.
But much-needed humanitarian aid and construction materials are still barred from entering the devastated strip.
Will this ease the suffering of the Palestinians after two years of war?
