Eleven housekeepers are arrested by Hong Kong to suspect “child destruction” and illegal abortion, police said.
The women, at the age of 30s and 40s, surrounded after his employer’s house with a dead fetus, later confirmed at least 28 weeks.
The police also found the drugs that they suspected abortion pills – which eventually took them to 10 more women.
Five has been charged, while five have bail and one forgives custody for further examination. If found guilty of the worst fee, child breaks, they can face life penalty.
The investigation began in June after paramedics were called to help a 39-year-old domestic worker, falling into his employer’s house.
The paramedics immediately realized the fetus hidden in a basket of wash in his room, said the police, not born alive.
When asked, the woman claims to buy pills from a friend – another foreign domestic worker.
He was arrested in July, with the police later carrying a series of attacks between July 29 and 8 August, which another eight domestic workers were in prison.
Inspector Lam Ho-Yin, in the Yuen Der Distric Distric Crim Squad, said it does not appear to be a crime syndicate. Instead, the initial findings showed “the 32-year-old foreign domestic assistant … they were taken back from another country” and accused of selling it.
It is unclear what every woman – whose national police do not reveal – accused of.
The Hong Kong is legal, but under tight conditions – under 24 weeks of maintenance of mother’s life, or if the mother’s risk of danger. More than 24 weeks, abortions can only be done when mother’s life is in danger.
People found guilty of supplying or using drugs for abortion can face up to seven years of jail time.
On Friday, owners asked their workers at home workers in a medical professional if they were pregnant.
Hong Kong hosts about 368,000 foreign domestic workers, according to government statistics. Most – about 55% – from the Philippines, while 42% came from Indonesia.
Most acquired a monthly monthly minimum Wage with HK $ 4,990 (US $ 636; £ 473).
