Thousands of people are expected to demonstrate across Denmark and Greenland on Saturday against US President Donald Trump’s plans to take over the Arctic island. The demonstrations, organized by Greenlandic groups, followed Trump’s warning on Friday that he “may impose tariffs” on countries that oppose his plans to acquire the autonomous territory of Denmark.
