Gwyneth Paltrow accidentally wrong Martí Suprem to cost Timothée Chalamet’s makeup for bad skin and offered some unsolicited advice.
“In Martí SupremTimothée has spots, and they made his eyes glow with contacts and glasses,” Paltrow, 53, said during the Tuesday, Dec. 2, episode. The Run-Through with Vogue. “And it’s all makeup.”
Paltrow explained that after Chalamet made a “comment” about her skin while playing the title character in the film, she jumped at the chance to help.
“I said, ‘Oh, you know, you can micro-needle for that,'” he recalled. “And he said, ‘That’s makeup!’ I was like, “Oh, shit.” I didn’t notice. The makeup was so good I thought I had little acne scars.”
The Oscar winner noted that in real life, Chalamet actually has “beautiful skin,” noting that “in real life, you’re like, ‘Oh my God.’
Paltrow noted that she was cheated because she never had to change her appearance for a role. “I’ve never done anything like this where I’m actually transformed in the face,” he said.
Martí Supremwhich hits theaters on Christmas Day, is directed by Josh Safdie and focuses on a fictional version of a real-life table tennis champion Marty Reisman. The film is set in 1950s New York City and follows Marty’s chaotic journey as he plots his way to table tennis tournaments in hopes of chasing greatness. Paltrow, meanwhile, plays movie star Kay Stonea love interest of Reisman who, according to Paltrow, is already “married to someone in the ping-pong mob.” She and Chalamet were first seen filming together in Central Park in October 2024, where they were seen sharing a passionate kiss for the cameras.

During a March interview with Vanity DorPaltrow said that she and Chalamet have “many” sex scenes together in the film. When asked by the channel if she was put in “vulnerable positions” for the film, she replied, “Beyond.”
Still, Paltrow insisted she wasn’t interested have an intimacy coordinator for the intimate moments, saying she didn’t know the job “existed” until she was cast as Kay.
Once on set, he recalled Martí Suprem intimacy coordinator asking her if she would be comfortable with a particular move, prompting her to respond, “I said, ‘Girl, I’m from the era where you take your clothes off, get in bed, the camera’s on.'”
In the end, the co-stars chose to stay away from using any assistance.
“We said, ‘I think we’re fine. You can step back,'” Paltrow recalled to the network. “I don’t know what it’s like for kids starting out, but … if someone says to me, ‘Okay, and then he’s going to put his hand here,'” he puts a hand carefully on his own shoulder), “as an artist I’d feel very suffocated by that.”
As for what Paltrow’s experience was like “faking all that sex” with Chalamet, 29, “I was like, ‘OK, great. I’m 109. You’re 14,'” Paltrow joked.
Martí Suprem hits theaters nationwide on Thursday, December 25.
