Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tana Ramsay reveals the skin condition of the tan


Gordon Ramsaythe wife of Tana Ramsayis revealing the state of her skin after spending too much time in the sun.

“Gordon and I used to bake,” Tana, 51, said The Times in an interview published on Monday, January 19. “Now I have melasma. I’ll never forget walking into a pharmacy and the woman behind the counter asking what the spots on my face were.”

Melasma is “characterized by brown or blue-gray patches or freckle-like patches,” according to the Cleveland Clinic. Skin involvement is common and usually clears up after a few months.

Tana’s admission comes months after Gordon, 59, opened up about him skin cancer surgery.

“Grateful and very grateful for the amazing team at The Skin Associates and their quick, reactive work to remove this basal cell carcinoma, thank you!” Gordon wrote via Instagram in August 2025. “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend. I promise it’s not a facelift! I would need a refund…”.

While sharing the message, the famous chef she posted photos of her bandage below her ear and on the left side of her face. A photo showed the inch incision, with about eight stitches.

Basal cell carcinoma is “a type of skin cancer that most often develops in sun-exposed areas of the skin, such as the face,” according to the Mayo Clinic. Cancer usually appears as a growth or sore that won’t heal.

“Glad to hear you’re well Gordon and thanks for raising awareness of how important it is to stay safe in the sun,” wrote Cancer Research UK’s official Instagram account. “Seek shade, cover up and apply sunscreen regularly and generously.”

Gordon and Tana daughter Holly Anna added in the comments section, “I love you dad” (The couple share six children, Megan, Holly Anna, Jack Scott, Matilda, Oscar James and Jesse James.)

A year before sharing his scar from skin cancer surgery, Gordon opened up about being in a bike accident.

“My life flashed before me,” Gordon said UK Men’s Health in 2024. “(I was) traveling down the hill pretty fast, no other cars were involved. The front wheel went down a pothole and the whole bike catapulted me. I struggled for breath. I thought I was going to pass out. Stupidly, the bike was damaged and I put the chain back on. Then I started again, like an idiot.”

He continued: “I bent down, started squeezing the helmet and it was all broken. Then I tried to look and I could see blurry vision and blood everywhere. I honestly thought I was going to pass out.”

Gordon was rushed to the hospital and had a CT scan and was given the all clear, but he had a long road to recovery.

“I couldn’t even put my socks and pants on,” Ramsay explained at the time. “Justin, (MandelGordon’s assistant) dressed me in the morning. I felt like a 95 year old man. Asking a 30-year-old boy to wear my underpants was embarrassing.”
